If you are a HUBZone resident, take a look a companies with the HUBZone designation in your area/field. It’s OK to send your resume to their general pool. Just make sure you indicate that you live in a HUBZone and can prove you live there. You will need to present a non-expired, state issued ID with the HUBZone address listed, a lease, etc. If you are a student, there is a document you will need to get from your school to serve as proof of residency in a dorm on a campus in a HUBZone.
If you’re adding a note about HUBZone residency to your cover letter, owners and hiring managers (not to be confused with HR folks), love reading that you live there and will continue to live there because you care about the community.
